Surfing

Surfing is the ultimate sport. The combination of adrenaline, idyllic surroundings and the satisfaction of catching your first few waves ensures that you’ll have an unforgettable experience – and you’ll be sure to be back at the beach before too long!

With various packages from half to full day, beginner to experienced there is something for everyone.

All of their instructors are ISA Level 1 or above qualified and lifeguard trained. They will make sure that you have an amazing time in the water and get you riding plenty of waves.

If you are trying the sport for the first time their Taster or Explorer lessons are the perfect choice for you. Or if you want to improve fast their Apprentice or Developer sessions assure lots of practice and time in the water. They also offer Private or Family lessons.

Bodyboarding

Body boarding offers another route into the adrenaline packed world of surfing. Riding a smaller board and wearing fins you can be ‘out back’ and tackling unbroken waves after a couple of lessons but, as with surfing, body boarding takes a lifetime to master.

Newquay Activity Centre offers Bodyboarding lessons for all levels. From complete beginners looking to catch their first waves to advanced bodyboarders looking to improve on their manoeuvres.

Coasteering

Wearing a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and safety equipment, you’ll get to discover the coast around Newquay and immerse yourself in the local sea life!

Newquay has a spectacular coast and the best way to explore it is from the sea: you’ll be taken right to the heart of the coastline and over the course of your session you’ll explore caves, duck through coves, negotiate rock jumps, plunge pools and whirl pools.

The Gazzle Peninsula offers some incredibly diverse coasteering routes right on Newquays doorstep. You will leap from cliff edges into deep plunge pools, wild swim between sections, climb through caves and traverse along low level stretches.

Different routes offer different intensities and our experienced guides always make sure that each coasteer is suited to the different ages and abilities of the group.

The Eco Coasteer is available for the environmentalist out there or the Super SUP Coasteer is a great choice, if you want to combine two activities in one.

SUP

3… 2… 1… Blast off! with the latest craze to sweep the nation’s coastline Standup Paddleboarding (or SUP for short) and is a totally awesome way to play on the water!

The Stand Up Paddleboard tours allow you to see and explore the historic coastline from the ocean. There are hidden coves, smuggler caves and craggy inlets to be discovered from your your unique vantage point on the stand up paddle board.

Your instructor will show you the correct paddle strokes and take you on an adventure around the Gazzle Peninsula. You might spot some of our resident seals or you can combine the SUP tour with snorkelling and join us for a Snorkel SUP Adventure to be amazed at the underwater world.

Super SUP

The Super SUP is probably Newquay Activity Centre’s most fun activity and probably the craziest way to get your gang on the water together! Learn how to paddle on an awesome giant inflatable craft as a team, before the real fun starts as you play some exciting games together. This activity is perfect for groups and families and we can guarantee you’ll be the envy of everyone on the beach! .

You will launch from Newquay Bay or Towan Head and explore the Gazzle Peninsula. Learn some paddle strokes, manoeuvres and how to move the craft as a group without losing your balance. Moore up the Super SUP for a selection of fun games to find out who is the King of the SUP!

Kayaking

Try out Newquay’s newest activity, which has something for everyone. Newquay Bay is one of the most sheltered stretches along Cornwall’s northern coastline and it lends itself perfectly to go exploring with Kayaks. Explore coves and caverns and together with your instructor you can explore the area’s flora and fauna.

You will access stretches of the coast which are otherwise inaccessible by land.

Newquay’s coastline provides a variety of native wildlife and if you are lucky you can even spot seals or dolphins.
